Thermaframe offer two types of window profile, Chamfered and Sculptured.
Chamfered Frame
Our Chamfered frame has a flat neat profile which creates a clean look to your windows and offers more visible glass and less PVCu frame. This allows a vast amount of extra light into your home. It is ideal for a wide range of properties in particular 1920's buildings and modern new builds.
Sculptured Frame
The Sculptured frame has a more rounded profile ideal for conservatories and larger windows where the amount of light is not an issue for you. The traditional frame size also comes with in a wide range of colours and finishes to ensure that your windows fit perfectly with both the inside and outside of your home.
RAL Colour Options
All of our u-pvc windows are available as standard in white but can also be any one of the thousands of industry standard RAL colours.
Please ask one of our representatives to see a RAL colour swatch or contact us with any queries you have regarding the uPVC woodgrain options we have available.
Woodgrain Options
You can choose to have an authentic woodgrain finish whether you choose white, black or an authentic wood colour. You can also specify white on the inside of your frames and a woodgrain on the outside.
We now offer a range of 5 coloured woodgrain foil finishes including Grey, Cream, Sage, Blue and Red as standard but many other colours are also available.
Dual-colour is a popular choice and reflects traditional frames where the outside is painted a different colour to the interior allowing for greater flexibility in interior decorating.

Low Emission Glass
Thermaframe supply a full range of Low-E glass with laminated and tempered glass options to provide safety and security where needed. Low-E glass was once an optional extra, but is now a standard option when installing windows and doors in the main dwelling of your home since it became compliant in April 1st 2002. As members of FENSA (The industry Gold Standard for Building Regulations compliance in replacement windows and doors), we follow their strict requirements on all replacement window and door installations. We also have 3-4 random inspections a month by the BBA (British Board of Agrément) to ensure the correct glass is being used.
Benefits of Low-E Glass
Low-E glass is a fantastic way of reducing energy bills as it provides excellent thermal insulation with U values down to 1.4 W/m2K (when gas filled). It allows high light and solar heat transmittance for the best use of natural lighting and beneficial solar heat gain. The outer pane allows optimal amounts of the sun's energy through the glass and has the benefit of free solar heating. The inner pane uses an advanced glass coating technology which reflects the heat from inside, back into the room.
Low-E glass provides colour neutrality in both reflection and transmission giving the window a natural appearance and maintaining the natural colours of everything seen through the glass or reflected in it. Most Low-E glass offered by our competitors has a yellow appearance to it, leaving your net curtains looking stained, and tarnished. With the uniformity provided by Low-E glass there are also no unsightly banding effects within the glass panels.
NB: It is not compliant yet in conservatories or porches although it can be added as an optional extra.

Georgian Bar Options
Integral Georgian Bars
Integral bars add great character to your property, yet still retain the ease of cleaning and maintenance to your windows as the feature bars are located inside the double glazed sealed units. Available in white, silver aluminium or any of the wood grain finishes we offer within our PVCu window range. 18mm or 25mm widths.
Astragal Georgian Bars
Astragal Georgian bars are a new development to the PVCu market and look more in keeping with the traditional georgian bars found on timber windows. We offer two different bars to suit each of our Whiteline NRG PVCu window profiles: Ovolo Georgian bars and Bevelled Georgian bars. The Ovolo Georgian bar is designed with a more rounded profile that suits the Ovolo frame.
The Bevelled Georgian bar is designed to replicate the traditional style and variety of timber frames, the slim bevelled sash bar is more angular in appearance and works well with your choice of bevelled frame The authentic finish of the fully scribed cruciform and bead jointing, combined with the appearance of individual panes of glass created by duplex spacer bars, make these replacement products look just like an authentic Georgian window.

Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is created in a process whereby a thin vinyl layer typically of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) is sandwiched between two pieces of glass using heat and pressure. Laminated glass is primarily used for its safety, security and sound reduction benefits.
A laminated glass window may crack upon impact, but the glass fragments will adhere to the plastic interlayer rather than falling free and causing potential injury. This toughness and resilience makes this type glass an excellent safety glazing option.
PVB films are able to block 99% of ultraviolet radiation and prevents your furniture and other items indoors from discolouring due to irradiation from ultraviolet radiation.Laminated glass can also add to the sound insulating of your property due to the glass being 6.4mm thick instead of the standard 4mm. This may become beneficial if you live on a main road or a busy street where noise pollution is a problem.
Be sure to mention this option, if you feel you could benefit from this in the more vulnerable locations in your property.

Leaded Glass
Lead is used to add style, character and authenticity to your new windows and doors. The lead is blackened at factory prior to fitting your new windows and doors to give the lead that darkened, aged look. This technique gives great authenticity to your installation and ensures that the lead on the inside of your property remains the same colour as the lead on the outside. Soldered joints are an optional extra that also gives you that real antique look. Lead is available in 4mm, 6mm, 9mm and the traditional 12mm widths.
